Dr. Derek MacDonald graduated from the University of Alberta with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS). Prior to dentistry, Dr. MacDonald was a junior high school band teacher specializing in the trumpet. He is married to his wife Natalie and has a son and a daughter. He enjoys tennis, golfing, reading and spending time with his family. Dr. MacDonald spent 2 years in the Netherlands and speaks fluent Dutch. He grew up in the Windsor Ontario area but now calls Alberta home. Dr. MacDonald looks forward to working with you and your family.
Dr. Brent Chizen graduated dental school with Dr. Macdonald in 2010 and joined Aspen Trails Dental in August 2012. Brent grew up north of Edmonton near Redwater , AB and would one day like to live on an acreage near Sherwood park. Brent enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He plays on volleyball, hockey, and slo-pitch teams and is an avid Oilers fan.
Russell is a graduate from the University of Alberta with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He grew up in Southern Alberta and moved up to Edmonton for school where he fell in love with the city and his beautiful wife. In his spare time he enjoys music, reading, podcasts, and spending time with his wife and young daughter. He loves all sports and will even tolerate long distance running if his waistline is feeling a little "lumpy".
Callie has lived almost her whole life in Sherwood Park, she is married and has two kids. She graduated from Provo College as an RDA II, she worked as a dental assistant prior to staying at home and raising her kids. Callie is currently the office manager at Aspen Trails Dental. She loves to travel, hike, read, cook and bake. She is also actively involved at her church and currently helps out in the youth program with girls aged 12-18. Callie is an animal lover and has a miniature schnauzer.
Nikki has been working at Aspen Trails since 2011 and she really enjoys being a Dental Assistant. She loves working with patients and her co-workers. Nikki is an animal lover and has 2 dogs. During her free time she enjoys travelling, spending time with friends and going on walks with her dogs.
Natasha was born and raised in Saskatchewan and moved to Edmonton in 2011. She graduated from the NAIT dental assisting program in 2013. She really enjoys snowboarding and hockey in the winter and in the summer doing anything outside that involves a lake. When she is not doing stuff outside loves just hanging out at home and cuddling up with her dog. What she loves most about her job is talking and getting to know patients.
Kara is a graduate of KDM's dental assisting program and had been a dental assistant since 2010. She calls Sherwood Park home and loves it! Outside of work, she enjoys spending time travelling with her family, camping, kayaking, and playing softball with her husband. Most importantly, she loves trying new and adventurous things. What she loves most about her job is how personable it is when working with patients and how much fun she has at it!
Mary-Lee brings over 20 years of assisting experience to the Aspen Trails Dental Team. When she’s not working she loves playing softball, volleyball and soccer as well as spending time with her two daughters. Mary-Lee makes sure all her patients are welcomed in a way that has become custo“mary” at Aspen Trails Dental. What she loves most about her job is building trust with her patients and taking away the fear from visiting the dentist.
Caley has been a dental assistant since 2006. Before becoming a dental assistant Caley received a Bachelor of Arts degree and an Education degree. Having a job where she could interact daily with people was important to her. She is originally from Coronation and now spends her time outdoors with her Husband Mackenzie and her son Wyatt.
Candice graduated from NAIT in 2004 as a registered dental assistant. She loves her job and really enjoys coming into work. Candice also has a background in massage therapy. Being nerdy by nature, she loves to read and learn new things. Candice is married and has two girls and a boy. She lives on an acreage and loves doing anything outdoors and spending time with friends and family. Candice also loves to run, cook and have fun!
Rachel is a dental hygienist who grew up in Sherwood Park and graduated from the University of Alberta BSc program. She was previously a dental assistant and specialized in orthodontics. Rachel enjoys travelling, hot yoga, running and shopping, as well as spending time with her husband and family.
Jessica is a dental hygienist that graduated from the U of A and originally from Medicine Hat. She decided to be a dental hygienist because she likes working with people and talking about herself without the other person being able to interrupt. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling and shopping!
Jessica was born in Ontario, she graduated in 2012 from the Dental Hygiene program at Georgian College. After her graduation she packed her life in two suitcases and jumped on a plane to Edmonton. Outside of the office she is always on a new adventure traveling throughout Alberta, doing anything outside; whether its golfing, hiking, quadding, snowboarding or sledding in the rocky mountains.
Lindsay grew up in Calgary and attended the University of Calgary for three years in Arts and Science before moving to Toronto to complete the Dental Hygiene program at TCDHA. She has been a hygienist for over three years now and loves getting to build relationships with her patients while helping to improve their overall health and quality of life. When she’s not working she loves painting, travelling to new places, and spending time with her friends, family, and her sweet little pug Hughie.
Krista graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at the University of Alberta in 2015. She eats tacos at least once a week, and would argue that guacamole should be its own food group. When she’s not dreaming up her next Mexican feast, she enjoys snowboarding, reading, hiking, and Netflix-ing. She loves visiting her family and snowmobiling in the winter.
Dominique was born and raised in Sherwood Park. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science (specialization in dental hygiene) from University of Alberta in 2010. She has a daughter and a son and when she's not working you'll find her having fun with her family!
Kira moved from Southern Alberta to attend the University of Alberta and received her Diploma in Dental Hygiene in 2015; she later completed her Bachelor of Science with a Specialization in Dental Hygiene. During her free time she loves spending time outdoors, whether it’s downhill skiing, cruising around on her mountain bike or trying avoid the sand traps while golfing. When she isn’t outside she loves reading and re-watching Friends on Netflix with her 13lb cat, Pax.
Nicola graduated from NAIT in 2003 and she has been working as a dental receptionist since that time. She enjoys building relationships with patients and their families. She feels honored to be a part of the Aspen Trails Dental team. Nicola and her husband have two young daughters and are proud to call Sherwood Park home.
Chantale grew up in Montreal but has lived in Sherwood Park since 2001. She is married, has two daughters and a black lab. Chantale worked in insurance for over 20 years before taking time off to be with her kids. She is glad to be working with patients and loves the staff at Aspen Trails Dental. When she’s not working she loves watching her daughter play basketball, travelling, shopping, skiing and spending time with her family.
Audrey has been a dental receptionist since 2011 and Aspen Trails has been her favourite office that she has worked in. The staff and patients are amazing and like family. Audrey is married and has a four year old daughter, she really enjoys spending time with her family. When she’s not working she loves to travel and discover new places.
Rosalie graduated from the dental assisting program at S.A.I.T. She worked as a dental assistant for 10 years before taking time off to be with her kids. During her spare time she enjoys cheering on her son and daughter’s sports teams. She enjoys playing softball and volleyball. She is happy to be back to work in the dental field and looks forward to helping patients with their dental concerns.
